She did SurviveAnd she tripped on that fragile line,That last final straw that held it all inside.Wrapped tightly, bound with twine,And she couldn't hold it in no more.Exploding brightly into her darkened sky,Like rockets set off on the fourth of July.Like a beautiful macabre scenario,Twisted was her frame unrecognizeable,Tearing at her flesh sharp barbs of steel.Hoped it was a dream but was all too realWounds that ran deep new and old.And it was that last final straw that broke open wide,It saved her from the shadows that crept inside. It left her badly wounded...stronger...and she did survive~Captured Poetry~
Ice crystal heartWandering alone on this cold dark night,Ice crystals glimmering like black diamonds,Under the smile of the pale moon light.Blinding my eyes within their beauty shining. Can't my heart be like the frozen ground? That my feet tread so lightly on,Barely a whisper, making a sound,And too many times she's been stepped upon. And I try to keep her frozen,I try to freeze her cold.Scarred from being so broken,Beating rough from wounds so old.Yet still she keeps on beating,Melting my snow every time.A thousand winds to be so fleeting,Does nothing to ease my mind.Opens herself up for the sting of pain,Opens herself up for the passion of love.Tries so hard to sustain,In a world that's so willing to give up...~Penny~
Tragedy of Angel'sFor what it was worth,She knew it in her heart to mean. That in all heaven and earth,It wasn't meant to be.For time had played a losing hand,The loss tore her apart. It was heartbreak on a scale so grand,She thought the pain would stop her heart.Their lives that bore their tragic tales,That sometimes blindly intertwined.Their ships set course on separate sails,On the oceans of their lives. And for what it was worth,She knew in her heart to mean. That through the hell and on earthIt just wasn't meant to be.~Penny
RainRain outside is tapping at my windowCalming at my attentionAnd I hardly noticed my pounding heartAs it beats strong against my chest. And it pounds as my thoughts raceStepping up it's quickened paceAs I try and unwind from stresses of the dayI'm distracted once again by the calming rainReflective of my amber wake.Thoughts race back to the rainEntranced by sounds of thunderLightening highlights the corners of my roomMy heart steadies with calming graceAnd sleep threatens to pull me under. No matter how hard I try and stay awake. And sleep threatens to pull me under.~Penny~
